Why Is My Dog Vomiting?
The common (and uncommon) reasons dogs throw up — and how to tell when it's an emergency versus a wait-and-watch.

Vomiting is one of the most common reasons owners call. Most single-episode vomits in an otherwise bright, hungry dog are not emergencies — dietary indiscretion is the usual culprit.
Head in sooner rather than later if vomiting is repeated (3+ times in a few hours), contains blood, is paired with a bloated belly, or your dog is lethargic, painful, or unable to keep water down. Puppies, small breeds, and seniors dehydrate fast.
Bring a video and, if possible, a sample. Details like timing after meals, what came up, and any recent trash/toy access change the workup completely.
