Rabbits need to eat and poop constantly. When the gut slows down, gas builds, dehydration follows, and the situation can turn fatal within 24 hours.
Warning signs: no fecal pellets for 8+ hours, refusing favorite foods, hunched posture, grinding teeth. This is not a wait-and-see condition.
Care usually includes fluids, pain relief, gut motility support, and syringe feeding. Prevention is a diet that's 80%+ grass hay.
