My Cat Ate a Lily — Why It's a True Emergency
True lilies cause fatal kidney failure in cats. Every part is toxic — even the pollen and water in the vase.

Easter, Tiger, Asiatic, and Day lilies are all highly toxic to cats. A single leaf, petal, or lick of pollen off the fur can cause acute kidney failure.
Go to an emergency vet immediately — do not wait for symptoms. Early IV fluids within 6 hours dramatically improve the outcome.
Peace lilies and calla lilies are not true lilies and are far less dangerous, but any suspected exposure should be called in to poison control.
